Check your thyroid function with our at-home blood test. Our advanced thyroid blood test checks 5 key markers, including TSH, T3 and T4, to help determine how your thyroid is functioning. If you’re experiencing symptoms of an underactive or overactive thyroid, such as a sudden change in weight, mood changes, difficulty sleeping or muscle weakness, this test is for you.

Free + Fast UK shipping on orders over £50

5 Biomarkers

  • Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TG)
  • Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPO)
  • Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)
  • Thyroxine (T4 free direct)
  • Triiodothyronine (T3 free)

Biomarkers are specific compounds we can detect in your blood sample that reflect different things about your health. Your test will tell you your levels for each of the above biomarkers, and whether they are in a normal range.

You can do this test at home without the need for a doctor. We'll send you everything you need to collect your sample and post it back to us. And it's all included in the cost.

You can provide the sample for the thyroid check at any time but we don’t recommend checking your thyroid levels at times of illness as this may not give you an accurate result.

Blood tests available through Rheia Health London are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Results should always be reviewed in consultation with your healthcare provider.

These tests are suitable for clients aged 18 and over. Certain tests may not be appropriate during pregnancy or for specific health conditions—please check suitability with your healthcare provider before purchasing.

Refunds for unused or incomplete tests are subject to our refund policy. By purchasing, you confirm you have read and agree to our terms. For full details, refer to the FAQ section or contact us.

What causes an underactive thyroid?

An underactive thyroid, also known as hypothyroidism, can be caused by various factors. The most common cause is an autoimmune condition called Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. Other causes include certain medications, iodine deficiency, radiation therapy, pituitary gland disorders, and surgical removal of the thyroid gland.

FAQ

What is the thyroid?

The thyroid is a gland in your neck that produces the hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). These hormones regulate the activity of the cells and tissues in the body.

T3 is the biologically active hormone, with your body converting T4 into T3. This hormone controls the metabolism, the speed at which cells work. The more T3 is produced or converted, the faster cells metabolise. The level of hormones produced by the thyroid gland are controlled by the pituitary gland, which releases thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) to stimulate the thyroid.

What causes an overactive thyroid?

An overactive thyroid, known as hyperthyroidism, can have different causes. The most common cause is an autoimmune disorder called Graves’ disease. Other causes include thyroid nodules, excess iodine intake, inflammation of the thyroid, and certain medications.

What are the early warning signs of thyroid problems?

The early warning signs of thyroid problems can include:

  • being sensitive to the cold or heat
  • weight gain / weight loss
  • constipation
  • low mood
  • muscle aches and weakness
  • loss of libido
  • mood swings
  • issues sleeping

What causes an underactive thyroid?

An underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) is usually caused by your immune system attacking the thyroid gland and causing it damage. This reduces its ability to produce sufficient hormones.

What happens after I place my order for a blood test?

We have partnered with Forth to offer insightful, doctor-reviewed at-home blood tests, analysed in NHS-accredited labs. After purchase, your test kit will be sent to you within 3–5 working days. Each kit includes a 'Lab Request Form' with an activation link and unique code. Log on to the website to activate your account, where you can provide relevant information about your health.

Providing as much detail as you feel comfortable is highly recommended, as it enables specialist doctors to deliver personalised and comprehensive analysis. For example, sharing whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or managing specific health conditions allows the doctors to tailor their insights to your circumstances.

Once you collect your sample, we strongly encourage you to activate your account before sending your blood samples and ensure they are sent back to the lab as soon as possible and within 24 hours, especially for the Menopause Blood Test. This helps guarantee the most accurate results. You will be notified as soon as your results are ready by email or text.

How soon will the test arrive?

All our kits are sent out via Royal Mail first class post, so it should be with you within 3-5 working days.

Does a doctor review my results?

We have a team of doctors and nurses who look at all results and will comment on any results that are outside of the normal range for your age.
